Miracle premature quadruplets celebrate first birthday
Quads defy the odds to make it to their milestone birthday celebrations, after being born at 28 weeks
When baby quadruplets Bethany, Ellie, Lucy and Millie defied the odds of one-in-a-million when they were born at 28 weeks last year, their parents were warned that they might not survive. However, the quads did make it – and they’ve just celebrated their first birthday!
The quads, who were conceived naturally, we born 12 weeks premature after their mum, Gillian Holden, 35, suffered from pre-eclampsia. However, the little girls are today healthy and ready to celebrate their first birthday, though their first six months of life was spent in hospital.
“To have all of them ready to celebrate their first birthday is huge. I can take a breath and say, ‘I can relax, they’re home now for good.’ I’ve got them a cake made with their names on it,” mum Gillian said, the Mirror reports.
