Nick Carter announces arrival of Backstreet baby
The Backstreet Boys singer and his wife Lauren have chosen a regal name for their son
Nick Carter and his wife Lauren Kitt have become parents!
Lauren, 32, had a water birth at home and their son arrived after 30 hours of labour on Tuesday.
He was born weighing 8lb 11oz.
The couple had their rather impressive name picked out weeks before the birth – naming their firstborn Odin Reign Carter.
It's an old Viking name – Odin is the Norse god of art, culture, wisdom and law and it's supposed to mean strength and power.
"It's a very strong name," the singer told Entertainment Tonight online last month. "We can't say the name yet. I've been instructed by my wife to keep it under wraps, but we have a name."
Nick, 36, also revealed that it's down to his wife that he finally felt ready to become a father.
"I don't want to get all sappy, [but] she's the reason I felt comfortable, and I knew that she would be the perfect mother," he said. "She would be able to help me teach our child all the things that he needs to learn."
