Paul Smith designs childrenswear range
British designer is branching into mini-me designs with his first children's collection, set to launch in September
Paul Smith designs a new legion of mini mes!
Renowned fashion designer Paul Smith is applying his quirky, classic style to a junior range of clothing due to hit stores in September.
Joining fellow designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs and Kenzo who have all designed collections for babies and tots, Paul Smith is designing his own collection of mini-me clothing, which will be available from newborn up to 14 years.
The collection sees Paul’s familiar design hallmarks downsized into childrenswear featuring his classic stripes, smart tailoring and chunky knits. The collection has been ‘borrowed’ from the main men’s and womenswear range and is priced between £34 - £250.
Prints and patterns include rose-pink, silk dresses, fair-isle cardigans, preppy tweeds and tiered peasants skirts for the girls, and for the boys, there will be an array of multi-stripe floral shirts, graphic printed jackets and quirky tees.
Look out for the collection in Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Brown Thomas this autumn.
Here come the boys
Paul Smith Junior boys collection features zangy graphic jackets and quirky t-shirts.
Paul's girls
For the girls, there are colour popping wool pea coats with stripes.
That's my boy!
Note the checked tweed trousers and famous stripes - it's a mini Paul Smith!
