First look at the Ypsi by Peg Perego – a new travel system for 2019
MadeForMums Awards winners Peg Perego debut their newest buggy offering: the modern, modular Ypsi…
You know we love the launch of a brand new buggy or travel system: we recently couldn’t shut up about the single-to-double Silver Cross Coast.
Well, at Kind und Jugend 2018 in Cologne, we were also introduced to Peg Perego’s new modular system: Ypsi ?
Suitable for 6 months+, the Ypsi’s got a lot to offer…
What do you get with the Peg Perego Ypsi?
It comes with the chassis, and a reversible seat that can be adjusted in to 3 positions: sitting, relaxing, resting.
If you purchase the Ypsi Combo, you can also buy with the carrycot (for an additional £150) – making the Ypsi suitable from birth. Both purchases come with the frame, and have a sizeable shopping basket, too.
It’s not a ‘lightweight’ pushchair, weighing 11.7kg (7.3kg for the frame, and 4.4kg for the seat), but (as we've come to expect from Peg Perego) it's sturdy.
The Ypsi is also car seat compatible, particular with Peg’s award-winning Primo Viaggio i-Size car seat or Primo Viaggio SL car seat. If you’ve already got one of these, you’re in luck: Primo Viaggio links adaptors come with the buggy.
The Ypsi will be available in 2 neutral colours: black (ebony) and grey (polo – both have brown leather-style handlebars – bang on trend, and adds a little pop to the neutral colours.
The hood of the carrycot’s also UPF50+, and the pram comes with a little sunflap to help you see your little one.
The side wheels can move 360–degrees and are lockable using a function at the side of the frame.
Generally, the Ypsi’s a pretty easy fold, too, and when we picked it up (with and without the seat), we definitely found we were able to lift it for a short period of time, no problem.

Here's what it looks like when folded for travel purposes, too...
When is the Ypsi by Peg Perego out?
Peg Perego have told us the Ypsi will be out in early 2019, with the first estimate of an RRP around the £950 mark.
The version you see in the pics and vids here is the final prototype – there’s a couple of little tweaks to the design still to come, in time for its launch.
Also coming soon from Peg Perego...
There's plenty of new colourways and styles to existing Peg prams coming in the first quarter of 2019 - including Rose Gold frames and stylish buggy buckles. Stay tuned...
