Pregnancy causes soap script mayhem for Home and Away
Writers of Australian soap Home and Away, are frantically rewriting their upcoming storylines as actress Ada Nicodemou announces pregnancy
Home and Away’s Ada Nicodemou left it until the last minute to tell her soap star colleagues she was pregnant.
Ada, who announced she is expecting her first child with hubby Chrys Xipolitas, told the Australian Daily Telegraph she is not sure how her pregnancy will be written in to the show. She said, “I sprung it on them like I did everyone else, so they’re rewriting as we speak.”
Since Ada revealed she was 15 weeks pregnant, there have been rumours of a baby storyline between her character Leah and bad boy Brax (played by Steven Peacocke). But Ada thinks Leah should have a wild one-night stand with a new character!
The 34-year-old actress went through a course of IVF treatment and said it was the “best thing” she has ever done.
“I’m a control freak and I started getting really stressed about not falling pregnant. But the minute I decided to do IVF, it took all that stress away and you feel more in control. Now I’m really calm. I think I’m the most relaxed I have ever been,” said Ada.
We can’t wait to see how Home and Away incorporate Ada’s pregnancy into the show. Maybe they’ll do an Eastenders and pack her off to prison like when Patsy Palmer (who plays Bianca Jackson) was expecting.
