Demi doing a Demi on Vanity Fair

Undoubtedly the most famous pregnancy pose, Demi Moore posed while pregnant for Vanity Fair magazine in 1991.

It caused shockwaves at the time. It seemed a lot of people (men and women) were uncomfortable with a woman exposing her pregnant body in such an unapologetic and celebratory way.

Using one arm as a hand bra, and proudly holding the bottom of her bump with the other, Demi’s iconic pregnant nude pose has been emulated (and spoofed) many times and is often referred to as ‘Doing a Demi’.

Abbey Clancy - Instagram

If there was an award for a copycat photo, then Abbey Clancy would undoubtedly be the winner. Not that was her intention of course...

The model stripped down to her birthday suit to show off her beautiful pregnancy body, a little keepsake to mark the 8 month point in her pregnancy, for hubby Peter Crouch and herself.

A source told The Mirror: “She’d wanted a memento for her and her husband. But they came out so well she decided to share.”

Lucky for Abbey she had photographer Karis Kennedy as a friend to take the perfect shot.

Imogen Thomas on Instagram

Imogen Thomas had just 3 weeks left until the birth of her second child when she posed in her undies for a professional photographer.

The 32-year-old draped a hand over her boobs in the sultry black and white shots. Sharing the photos on Instagram, she commented: "I love my UN-AIRBRUSHED pregnancy shoot shot on film! Love the whole feel of it. Proud of my lumps and my lovely bump ? shot old skool ??? #3.5wksleft #girl#calvinklein #film #black&white ?," she commented on Instagram.

Billi Mucklow black and white photo shoot

With only 4 weeks to go before giving birth, The Only Way Is Essex star, Billi Mucklow got her fiancé Andy Carroll in on the act.

In a professionally styled black and white photo shoot, the reality star posed seductively while pressing her baby bump up against her half dressed West Ham footballer partner – saucy!

Although in her eyes, this merely is a way of a celebrating the nearing of her due date. "4 Weeks To Go Till We Meet Our Baby Boy," Billi commented when she posted the snap on social media.

Hilaria Baldwin on Instagram

Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to grace the cover of Vanity Fair or Vogue. If you want to proudly bare and share your baby bump, then you no longer have to wait for a photo shoot offer. Celebrities can now take matters into their own hands courtesy of Instagram.

Hilaria Baldwin took a selfie of herself in her bathroom mirror while wearing nothing more than Heidi Klum Intimates underwear.

She captioned the picture: "8 months! #BaldwinBabyBump"

Jessica Simpson on Elle

Jessica Simpson bared all while pregnant for US Elle magazine earlier this year. Taking her lead from Demi Moore, Jess kept things simple, with her hair down and just some pieces of jewellery on. There was an interesting hiccup when an American store chose to censor the cover after reportedly receiving complaints from customers.

Britney Spears on Harper's Bazaar

In 2006 Britney Spears took to the cover of Harper’s Bazaar, adopting a modern version of the ‘Demi’, with a chunky necklance and more forward-facing pose. Britney was pregnant with her second son Jayden James at the time.

Claudia Schiffer on Vogue

Claudia Schiffer graced the front cover of Vogue magazine in 2010, with the simple background matching the au natural pose. The cover was shot by Karl Lagerfield while Claudia was pregnant with her third child, Cosima Violet.

Mariah Carey on Life & Style

Christina Aguilera on V magazine

Roll on a few years to 2014, and Christina has done it again, this time for a beautiful-looking shoot for US fashion title V magazine. Christina's unsurprisingly proud of her bump for her second pregnancy. While the singer hasn't confirmed her due date, it's thought to be early autumn making Christina around 7 months pregnant in the picture.

Myleene Klass on Glamour

In August 2007 Myleene Klass bared her baby bump on the cover of UK Glamour magazine. Myleene was pregnant with her first daughter Ava, who was subsequently born on the 16th August 2007.

Sienna Miller on canvas

A bold, naked painting of pregnant Sienna Miller was painted by British artist Jonathan Yeo. Sienna is said to have visited the artist in July, just weeks before giving birth to her and partner Tom Sturridge’s daughter Marlowe.

Jonathan said, “I wanted an image that epitomised the human body in its most naturally beautiful state.

“It has been many years since Demi Moore caused uproar by posing for Annie Leibovitz on the cover of Vanity Fair. In that time society has become almost completely desensitized to the daily exposure to people who have surgically distorted their appearance for artificial reasons. Yet certain sections of society are still uncomfortable with the appearance of pregnancy and images of naked expectant mothers are rarely seen.”

Lara Stone for iD

Lara Stone decided to do her own take on the naked pregnancy photo shot. She posed with two strategically placed glasses of red wine for a shoot in fashion magazine iD. Lara, now separated from her husband David Walliams, was actually 7 months pregnant when the photo was taken, and managed to keep her bump very discreet under her tray and apron.

Sandi Thom on Facebook

Towards the end of her pregnancy, singer Sandi Thom posed with just her bump, her husband Matt's heavily-tattooed arms artfully placed over her boobs and an enigmatic Mona Lisa-ish smile for the camera - and posted the shots on her Facebook page.

And in a pre-emptive strike against the belfie-haters, she wrote: "Oh. No. She. Didn't! Oh yes she did! Wow, hold the phones, stop the press, I've shown my baby bump, my beautiful baby bump in all its glory.

"There's no boobs, bum, nudity, just Mother Nature in all its glory. And so yes I proudly display my femininity, my baby boy growing in my womb and the love I have for him with my husband by my side, and if you judge me for doing so.. Go ahead!

"My conscience is clear! On the same day I visited a special needs school and played a benefit concert in Glasgow that night. So I'm fine with it, and very comfortable with who I am and what I stand for!!!"

Well said, Sandi!

Serena Williams for Vanity Fair

To mark her pregnancy, tennis ace Serena posed nude Demi Moore-style for the August 2017 cover of Vanity Fair.

It's expected that Serena will give birth in early September, according to reports, which would make her almost 8-months pregnant in these stunning shots.

This will be the first child for Serena and fiance Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of reddit.
