Pregnant Claudia Schiffer shares her model maternity secrets at the Elle Style Awards
Model mum-to-be dishes on her pregnancy style, why she doesn’t do maternity clothes and her secrets to keeping stretch marks at bay
She may be sporting a pregnant baby bump, but mum-of-two Claudia Schiffer is still a fashion force to be reckoned with as was proved at the recent Elle Style Awards. Winning the coveted crown of the 'Model of the Year', 39-year-old Claudia accepted her award looking blooming gorgeous, wearing a loose black jersey dress by Emma Cook.
Giving pregnant Dannii Minogue a run for her money in the pregnancy chic stakes, the model mama revealed her baby bump style tricks. “I’m not the sort of person who likes to wear tight clothes when I’m pregnant, but I’m not a fan of maternity dresses either. So my advice would be to get things a few sizes bigger and have them tailored to fit,” she told People.
It isn’t just her wardrobe tips she shared but her pregnancy skin regime too. “I do like to put a lot of cream on my tummy, as long as it’s natural. I think it really works to help stretch marks and make the skin really nice and soft,” she shared. So supermodels get stretch marks too! “I use several creams! Balance Me oil is really good, Mama Mio has a thick buttery cream which is amazing and I also use French organic oil too – I alternate them!”
And how does the busy mum-of-two maintain her catwalk-ready glow? “During my first pregnancy, I started to eat organically and healthily because that was the first time I actually thought about what I was putting in my body. I’m still doing that today and just taking it easy and enjoying this time in my life.”
