Prince George arrives Down Under in traditional royal romper
As the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrive in Australia, Prince George's sailboat romper suit causes a social-media stir
Prince George said 'g'day' to Australia today – and everyone Down Under is suddenly in thrall to his royal-romper-suit style.
As soon as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge carried baby George off their plane, which had just landed at Sydney for the second leg of their Royal Tour, Aussie social media channels were abuzz with comments about the little prince's white smocked romper suit, with its Peter Pan collar and sweet blue line of sail-boat embroidery.
Some Tweeters were quick to point out that Prince George's outfit was incredibly similar to a white smocked romper suit his dad William wore as a baby in a photo shoot with his late mother Princess Diana in 1983.
Others, who maybe hadn't seen too many babies in the very traditional short-legged romper look recently, clearly thought Prince George looked like he was wearing a dress. One commentator posted: "Wonder how much George's dress was?"
Aussie jokers again, we already know that loads of people are captivated by George's little outfits, with the Rachel Riley sailboat dungarees he wore last week in New Zealand selling so fast, they went temporarily out of stock just days after Prince George debuted the look.
But what do you think? Do you like traditional-looking romper suits for babies? Would you dress your baby in one? Or do you prefer a more modern look? Please do post a comment and let us know.
