Rumours say Kate Middleton’s baby to be named Philip if it’s a boy
Are the royal couple set to name baby son after great grandpa?
Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly considering naming their baby after his great-grandad Prince Philip, if they have a boy.
According to the Daily Star royal aides have revealed the couple have short-listed the traditional name in honour of the Duke of Edinburgh.
“The name Philip is in the frame for a boy,” a Royal insider allegedly said.
“It will certainly have it somewhere in his name,” they said.
“It is popular with them at the moment and could even be the first name as William is very fond of his grandfather.”
The insider also revealed that William would make the decision on the name if the couple welcomed a son.
Recent reports hinted that the Duchess might be planning a low-key baby shower, however according to E! News this is not the case.
"The Brits don't do baby showers. It is not what they do," Victoria Arbiter, ABC's royals contributor and daughter of the queen's former press secretary Dickie Arbiter, explained to E! News.
"There is a little superstition involved," she added, a reason why many women choose not to have a baby shower.
"Plus, William and Kate are very well aware they are wealthy and they don't want anything," Arbiter said. "They can afford their own stuff."
What do you think of the name Philip for the royal bundle of joy?
