Sandra Bullock fighting for custody of stepdaughter after marriage split
Actress wants to be full-time step mum to 6-year-old Sunny after separating from cheating husband Jesse James
After discovering that her husband of five years has cheated on her with other women, Sandra Bullock has started divorce proceedings – and a custody battle.
Despite not being 6-year-old Sunny’s biological mum, the 42-year-old Oscar winning actress has raised the little girl since she was a baby after the girls dad Jesse James split from her mum, former porn star Janine Lindemulder. Friends of the actress have revealed that Sandra is “beside herself” with fear of losing Sunny after she walked out of the family home when her husband’s infidelity came to light, according to the Mirror.
It is rumoured that the Blind Side actress has contacted top family lawyers in a bid to gain full custody of Sunny, however it isn’t clear how strong her case will be. “She did everything for that girl and now it looks as if she’s going to have to fight even for visitation rights. It’s heartbreaking,” a source told the Mirror.
Although Sandra’s husband has been unfaithful and Sunny’s biological mum previously lost visitation rights, Sandra’s plea for custody might still be in jeopardy. “The most she can aim for right now is split custody, and a lot of that would have to be agreed by him,” a legal source told the newspaper.
