Schoolboy becomes The Beano’s youngest ever comic strip writer
Freddie, 7, gets his first comic strip published
Freddie Neno, 7, from Eastington, has become the youngest writer to contribute to The Beano, the famous British children’s comic that’s been published since 1938.
Freddie sent his storyline to the publishers of The Beano, for the Fred’s Bed comic strip that appears each week in the mag. His idea was snapped up, and appears in Issue 3534 of the comic (published last week), reports the Telegraph.
Freddie has received a letter that officially declares he’s the mag’s youngest ever contributor, too.
''I'm really proud of myself as all the ideas were mine,” said budding schoolboy writer Freddie.
''Lots of my friends at school are jealous. I now want to be a writer when I'm older.''
