Surviving sextuplet babies return home
Five surviving sextuplets head home with mum and dad to County Tyrone
In May this year, Nuala Conway gave birth to six babies prematurely in a Belfast Hospital. Today, Nuala and husband Austin were able to bring their surviving five babies home to Dunamore, near Cooktown, reports the BBC.
Nuala gave birth to her six babies 14 weeks prematurely, and they weighed between 1lb 7oz and 2lb 2oz. She delivered four daughters and two sons – Ursula, Austin, Shannon, Karla, Eoghan and Kerrie. Sadly Kerrie passed away in July.
Sextuplet births are rare, happening in approximately one out of 4.5 million pregnancies.
The Conways are the first recorded sextuplets birth in Ireland, and the first in the UK since 1993
