A survey of 600 UK children, conducted by BIC in support of their national picture drawing competition, discovered their dream home was a castle made from sweets, with chimneys and a pool.

It would be located near the beach, have a slide instead of stairs, and the biggest room in the house would be the kid's bedroom.

The 'Home of the future' would also have new dream rules such as unlimited TV, no set bedtime and being allowed to eat chocolate and sweets for breakfast.

Boys even demanded that wash-time be a no-go with 16% admitting they’d like to avoid taking baths or showers.

“It’s so important that children spend time exploring and developing their creativity,” said Olivia Calamand, BIC marketing manager for colouring.

“Drawing provides them with the perfect outlet to channel their endless imaginations.”

The drawing competition runs until 19th September and the winner’s school will receive a lesson from children's illustrator Sue Hendra and artwork of the dream house.
