Tana Ramsay has miscarriage at 5 months
Chef Gordon Ramsay thanked the couple’s fans for their well wishes in a heart-wrenching Facebook post
Tana Ramsay has tragically had a late miscarriage, 5 months into her pregnancy.
The 41-year-old author and her TV chef husband Gordon Ramsay, 49, have been together for 20 years and have 4 children: Jack, Holly, Megan and Matilda.
Yesterday, Gordon took to his Facebook page to thank the couple’s fans for their support during this difficult time.
“Hi guys, Tana and I want to thank you so much for your support over the past couple of weeks,” he began.
“We had a devastating weekend as Tana has sadly miscarried our son at 5 months.
“We're together healing as a family, but we want to thank everyone again for all your amazing support and well wishes.
“I’d especially like to send a big thank you to the amazing team at Portland Hospital for everything they’ve done. Gx"
Many of the couple’s fans have left lovely messages beneath the post, expressing their sadness and understanding.
One user commented: “So very sorry for your loss. We lost our son at 20 weeks, it is truly the hardest pain a family will endure, thank you for being so brave and talking about your loss.
“My thoughts are with you and your family xxx”
Another shared her own story with the couple: “Our thoughts and prayers are with you both. We understand the pain you are enduring.
“We lost a son at 23.5 wks in 2001, we lost a daughter at 21.5 weeks in 2007, and we lost a son at 21.2 wks in February this year. *hugs* to your family.
“Thank you for discussing this publicly as many will not due to so many others discomfort when it comes to infant loss.”
“The most important thing is to take the time you need to heal and be together as a family,” another fan wrote.
Late miscarriages are relatively rare, and symptoms like aches, pains and bleeding during pregnancy do not always mean there’s a serious issue.
But if you have any concerns you should always speak to your GP or midwife immediately.
Sending lots of love to the Ramsay family at this time ❤️
