The Very Hungover Caterpillar: just for parents!
The much-loved children’s book gets hilarious update for the grown-ups
Eric Carle's classic children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar has a new rival – but this one's aimed squarely at us parents and it's called The Very Hungover Caterpillar!
We all know that no one has ever truly experienced the real pain of a hangover until you’re the parent of a young child. Enduring a sing-along Frozen viewing or stepping on a piece of Lego can just about send you over the edge after a few too many gins the night before. No luxury of a lie-in or lying on the sofa all day!
So, authors Josie Lloyd and Emlyn Rees have written The Very Hungover Caterpillar to put a smile on the face of any parent who’s tried to get through a morning after the boozy night before while looking after their kids.
In this new book, the dad tries to overcome his hangover by eating whatever he can find – much as the caterpillar does in the original. But we don't think we remember the caterpillar annoying his family quite so much in the process!
Josie and Emlyn are the writers behind We’re Going on a Bar Hunt, a parody of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt where 2 parents attempt to have a night out. We don’t want to ruin the story, but you already know it won’t end well!
