Thousands sign petition to save CBeebies - but did it work?

Parents across the UK were in disbelief when the news broke that the BBC was thinking of axing the much-loved CBeebies children's channel.
But after a pretty impressive online campaign, which saw more than 130,000 people signing a petition in an attempt to make sure CBeebies stays on our screens, director general of the BBC Tony Hall has now confirmed the good news that Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and co will keep their slot. Phew!
Among those who signed to keep CBeebies safe were James Bond stars Dame Judie Dench and Daniel Craig and Harry Potter author J K Rowling.
So for all of you who love a bit of Mr Tumble, Mr Maker and In the Night Garden, grab the remote, relax and enjoy - preferably while the kids are around....
