Top ten new celebrity parents
Top ten new celebrity parents - Pink and Carey Hart top best celebrity parent poll
The votes are in and it’s time to reveal who the UK has crowned the best new celebrity parents of 2011.
A recent study by yourbabydomainname.com saw over 2,000 Britons asked which celebs they thought did the best parenting job this year. Having your first child is always tough, as well as wonderful, but these celebs seemed to sail through everything effortlessly. Or, at least, they appear to during interviews and whenever a cameraman happens to be around. Take a look at the rundown and curb your outrage when we tell you it’s not, we repeat NOT, Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom.
10. Cynthia Nixon and Christine Marinoni:
The Sex and the City star’s partner, an education activist, gave birth to baby Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni in February having not told anyone they were even expecting. For keeping it private, and not even releasing details of the biological father, we salute them.
9. Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum:
The pair became parents in March and are said to be over the moon. It’s not clear who little Lyra will take after, with a friend revealing: “The big joke is whether the child is going to be statuesque or small…”
8. Penelope Cruz and Javier Barden:
Recently snapped in the park looking picture perfect, happy and surprisingly normal, the couple had baby Leo in January and work hard to balance their hectic schedules with family life.
7. Owen Wilson and Jade Duell:
The 42 year-old Little Fockers actor and his then girlfriend welcomed son Robert Ford into the world last January when he was born in Hawaii. The couple have since split but remain friends, with Robert spending half his time with his dad, and half with his mum.
6. James Cordon and Julia Carey:
The One Man, Two Guvnors actor is all set to fly his eight-month-old son Max and his fiancée to America when the play transfers to Broadway, having become a father in March. Adorable.
5. Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch:
A surprising entry but, despite making questionable headlines, this couple became doting parents to Sophia Ruby earlier this year and it seems to have made all the difference. Abbey said: “It’s amazing being so happy with someone who’s your best friend, and then a baby, a miracle.” Aww.
4. Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied:
Famously private, Natalie Portman gave birth to her little son Aleph in July and the engaged pair have been duly staying out the headlines ever since - good for them.
3. Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom:
This is one excruciatingly good-looking couple. Even immediately after giving birth to baby Flynn, the Victoria Secret model looked stunning in a tweeted photo and they’re also great parents to boot. And a quarter of the votes for this glamorous couple were based on the fact that Kerr had ‘maintained her bikini body’. It’s hard not to feel a bit insane with jealousy, really.
2. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon:
She reportedly doesn’t do stairs, but certainly does do babies; two of them. Since her and husband Nick became parents to twins Moroccan and Monroe in May, they’ve spoken at length about how they “can’t believe how much love” they feel for their bundle(s) of joy.
1. Pink and Carey Hart:
It’s difficult not to find your cockles warmed by the sight of this toned, tattooed and alternative couple taking their new baby Willow for tacos. In fact it warmed your cockles so much you’ve named them Best New Celeb Parents 2011- our sincerest congrats go out to the trio.
