Watch out Mothercare – Tesco set to launch a ‘Baby World’
Supermarket announces plans to launch a baby ‘store within a store’
Tesco has announced that it is set to launch a 6,000 sq ft ‘Baby World’ which will feature all of its baby-related products under one roof – along with baby experts.
Enabling parents to pick up their groceries as well as all their baby necessities, from buggies and cots to toys and baby clothing, the new concept promises to be a standalone ‘store within a store’.
The ‘Baby World’ is about to launch in Tesco’s in Walkden, Greater Manchester and if it’s a success, it’ll make its way to other Tesco stores throughout the UK. Rivaling its competitor Mothercare, who currently provides everything and anything in baby products, Tesco’s new shop will even feature three baby ‘experts’ who’ll be on hand to offer parents baby advice.
“It will be like walking into a stand-alone baby shop, but the prices are going to be extremely competitive,” says Tesco’s nursery commercial manager, Dianne Jubb.
What do you think about this new concept? Would you shop there?
