Another day, another YouTube pregnancy announcement vid...

There are loads of ‘em out there, but once in a while, the dad-to-be flips the switch and he’s the one to announce the happy news to an unsuspecting mum-to-be.

A YouTuber user named Tim Brummel is the latest dad to do this. He titled his destined-to-be-viral video, Husband Finds Out Wife Is Pregnant After Vasectomy, and it’s already racked up 314k views.

“About 8 months ago, I had a vasectomy,” he begins his vlog. “You’re probably wondering why I’m telling you this.

"Well about 6 weeks ago, [my wife] Rachel started acting, well, a little bit pregnant. She was tired a lot, a little bit more hungry that usual, felt a little bit nauseous… we joked about it but we knew she couldn’t be pregnant.

“But then it dawned on us that we never got the results of my 5-month check up. So I called up and found out it was possible.

“Apparently the procedure was unsuccessful and they forgot to tell me. So I took matters into my own hands.”

Tim then revealed in a new shot that he’d disabled the toilet overnight so Rachel couldn’t flush it, and did a pregnancy test using her urine after she’d used the bathroom in the morning.

It was positive (gulp!) so Tim decided to reveal the news to his wife using flowers, the positive test and a sweet card, which read: 'If you ever worried that life would be a bore, put that fear aside, you're now a mommy of four.'

Naturally, Rachel was stunned to hear the news and bursts into tears.

“Shut up. Are you for real? I don’t know what to think, I’m a little bit in shock…”

Firstly, congrats to the happy couple (they do seem happy about the news even though it might have been a teensy bit unexpected). Watch the full vid to see Rachel and Tim telling their eldest children they're getting a sibling. So cute.

But while Tim seems really sweet and this feels much less attention-seeking than some professional vlogger announcements we’ve seen, this vid did make us wonder how we’d personally feel if someone did a pregnancy test on our urine behind our backs.

Would you want your partner to know before you?

And just for accuracy reasons, it's probably not the best idea to take a sample from the toilet.

What’s your view?

Would you find this a romantic way to learn you’re expecting - or is the sneakiness a little bit weird?

How would you feel if your partner surprised you like this? Would you prefer to find out the old-fashioned way, and have some time to process the news before sharing?

Let us know on Facebook and Twitter.
