How do Yoto cards work?

Yoto cards work similarly to CDs in a CD player. Each card has up to one hour of content on it, whether that's audiobooks, music, or sounds, and you simply put a card into the Yoto Player to make it start.

Once you've played a card on your Yoto for the first time, the content from the card is downloaded and can be played from the file stored locally on your Yoto. This means your Yoto doesn't even have to be online to play a card.

Can you play your Yoto without cards?

You can't play anything through your Yoto Player without a card. However, Yoto has a number of digital-only cards – which are often cheaper than physical cards – and these can be played by either linking them to a Make Your Own card, or through the Yoto app.

Yoto allows you to set up family accounts with more than one Yoto Player attached to it. If you have this, all the cards in your library will be downloaded to all players, which means you can play any card across multiple players.
