X Factor hopeful rejected 'because of pregnancy'
Soon-to-be mum was told to go home by Simon Cowell
A rejected X Factor hopeful has claimed she was given the red light because she was pregnant.
Heavily pregnant Lauren Stanley, 23, and her singing partner Verity Morley, 19, turned up to the X Factor audition amongst the thousands of hopefuls in a bid to get through to the ‘boot-camp’ stage.
Budding singer Lauren and her Black and Gold band mate made it through to the next stage but was allegedly told by music mogul and sharp tongued Simon Cowell to “go home and have a baby”.
“We were on stage after we performed and he told me he thought I was being irresponsible. I told him if I didn’t think I could do it, I wouldn’t be here,” Lauren told the Metro.
Simon Cowell has refused to confirm if the dismissal claims were true.
Lauren went on to welcome her son Jack a week after the X Factor rejection. Black and Gold intend to re-audition for next year’s show.
