Rosehip Oil for Pregnancy Skin
Stay blooming with a wonderful range of natural pampering products from Trilogy
When you are pregnant, you can experience all kinds of unpredictable changes to your skin.
From blotchy, oily skin to dry patches to days when that 'pregnancy bloom' makes you feel as good as you look, it can be a rollercoaster ride. But being pregnant, you probably want to use beauty products that are as kind to your body as possible.
There are some wonderful all-natural lotions and potions on the market now, but we love the range from New Zealand company Trilogy, because it's simple to use (whether you want to use the creams, oils and balms or just the super-easy Everything Balm), it isn't hugely expensive, and it makes the most of the skin-kind natural oil found in rosehips.
The wonder of rosehip oil
The certified organic rosehip oil that Trilogy uses in its products is a completely natural, pure concentrate from rosehip seeds. These are fairly traded, high grade seeds sourced from South Africa.
The oil contains naturally occurring antioxidants and vitamins as well as omega 3 and omega 6.
Rosehip seed oil helps stimulate metabolic changes in the skin. It helps accelerate cell growth and keeps the skin young looking, it boosts levels of collagen and can naturally aid cell regeneration. It is also great for helping repair the skin after sun damage and for easing the signs of premature ageing. Plus it's a great natural treatment for scars.
Trilogy's skin-kind simplicity
The pure extract of rosehip seed oil means that the end product you rub into your skin is solvent free and without the mineral oils, petrochemicals, parabens and artificial colours and fragrances you often find in regular beauty products. Given that 60 per cent of what we put on our skin will be absorbed into our bodies, that makes Trilogy a great choice not only when you are expecting but at any time of your life.
The co-owners and founders of Trilogy, Sarah Gibbs and Catherne de Groot, are sisters. They founded the New Zealand-based business in 2002 and not only take the ingredients of their products seriously, but also value the importance of the planet they source them from, so whilst Trilogy is now a brand sold across the world, the company is working to make itself even more ecologically sustaintable than it already is.
The Trilogy range
From the Purifying Masque and the Intensive Lip Treatment to the Hydrating Mist Toner and Balancing Gel Cleanser, there are items in the range for all your me-time needs. If your skin is feeling dry, cut to the chase and go for the 100% Pure Certified Organic Rosehip Oil which is rich and wonderfully smooth on your skin (£28.95 for 45ml, £14.95 for 20ml), or try the Energising Face Lotion (£22.95 for 100ml).
The range also includes products that utilise the natural wonder of other organic oils. The CoQ10 Booster Capsules (£23.95 for 60 capsules) are tiny little portions of a wonderful mixture containing tamanu oil, co-enzyme Q10, vitamin A and vitamin E. It smells wonderfully aromatic and each capsule is just enough to give your face, neck and hands a reviving boost even when you are on the go. Keep a couple in your purse for emergency pampering action!
The Everything Balm - for everyone!
One of the major hit products in the range is the Everything Balm which contains marula, olive, rosehip, evening primrose and wheatgerm oils as well as vitamin E and honey. This balm is light yet rich and, as the name suggests, can be used for almost anything from dry skin to lank hair.
In New Zealand it has been such a hit with men and women that fans even send the company poems about it! One of its great assets is that it is versatile so you don't always have to clank around with a collection of pots and bottles, just take your tub of Everything Balm and off you go… (£18.95 for a 95ml pot, £10 for a 45ml pot.)
Safe before, during and after pregnancy
Apart from the lip balm (which, as a precaution, is not advised during pregnancy because it contains sage), all the Trilogy products are safe to use before, during and after pregnancy, so even if you are still trying for a baby, you can enjoy their rejuvenating properties without worrying that you are using beauty products that aren't pregnancy-safe. Being able to use them after pregnancy also means that you can continue your me-time regime without any awkward switching around, once you are a time-strapped mum.
Plus, Trilogy products are gently scented so all the family can enjoy them - from dad to new baby.
