Buyer's Guide to Nursing Bras
Is there anything unique about the Anita 5092?
I'm not sure there is anything unique about this product that you couldn’t find elsewhere, although the design is well thought-out and pretty. However, unlike most nursing bras, it offers underwiring.
Is it good value for money?
At around £40 per bra, I do think the Anita range is slightly above the average price, but not significantly. They are well made and comfortable, and if you plan to breastfeed for any length of time then they are definitely an investment.
Is the Anita 5092 a supportive bra?
It comes with flexible underwiring and little stretch in the cups, which does make it supportive. But, despite claims, I personally feel there was no moulding or shaping to the cups. The straps were strong though.
Buyer's Guide to Maternity Bras
Is it easy to clean?
This bra is hand wash only, which isn't ideal in those first few weeks when you don’t have a lot of time for washing.
Is it comfortable?
I found this bra comfortable, but unfortunately the sizing wasn’t quite right, so I would certainly suggest getting measured before buying, either by checking it against the guide on the Anita website or going to a stockist to get measured professionally.
How does it compare to other nursing and maternity bras you have used?
This bra is flexible, and one of the only nursing bras I have found with underwiring - something some mums prefer. I found it easy to use, like most of the nursing bras with clips that can be done up or undone one-handed.
8 of the best nursing bras
What do you think of the design?
Whilst most nursing bras are quite plain, the Anita 5092 is decorated with a grey paisley design and a hot pink bow - adding a touch of femininity. Unfortunately, it isn't one you can wear with low-cut tops. Matching maternity briefs are available if you’d like a set.
Would you recommend this maternity bra?
I would recommend this bra if you are looking for a pretty, subtle design and one that's easy to wear.
How robust and durable does it seem?
This bra feels very robust and well made, and although hand washing can be awkward and time-consuming it does mean it lasts better, and for longer.
Who is this bra best for?
This bra is best for someone who has already had a baby, and whose milk has settled as there is a lack of flexibility in the cups. If you are planning on feeding for a while and would like something soft and feminine to wear, then this is a great option.
