While I’m a mum of four, it’s for my youngest, Freya, 2, and a friend’s child that a double buggy is needed. We look after each other’s child regularly and both rely on a double buggy.
What we love
When we open the box, we find the Baby Weavers You & Me Twin Pushchair is so very easy to assemble. Freya, 2, and I only need to pop on a few wheels and attach the hoods and we’re off. She could almost do this on her own!
The Baby Weavers You & Me Twin Pushchair is a snip at £129.99 on the Kiddicare website at the moment (its RRP is £260). Many doubles - especially the high-end tandems - are upwards of £600 by the time you add in all the extras you have to buy separately. Included in its price tag, the You & Me Twin Pushchair has everything you could need - two cosytoes, hoods, shopping baskets and a raincover.
The folding mechanism on the You & Me Twin Pushchair is a classic umbrella fold, so even with two cosytoes attached this buggy will collapse to a reasonably compact size. The automatic fold lock and carry handle just make this budget buy an even better bet.
I recently tried out a few double buggies, searching for one that will fit in a small hallway, allow at least one of the children to fall asleep, is easy to store when not in use and that offers storage of all the things we need to transport around for children. On all these points the Baby Weavers You & Me Twin Pushchair scores really highly, with its compact fold and reasonable sized shopping baskets. The best feature in its favour though is the fact that it will go through the front door. In fact I haven’t found a door it won’t go through yet.
What to watch out for
Firstly, I need to say that every niggle I have is countermanded by the current sale price - this buggy is truly amazing value for money. I can see why it was a Practical Parenting & Pregnancy Awards finalist in the double buggy category this year.
Style-wise this buggy is not great. It looks more like something that would appeal to my 2-year-old for pushing around. I consider myself more of an understated chic kind of a girl (on a good day), where as toddler Freya is firmly into bright colours and small furry animals. Whilst she thinks this buggy is great to be seen out in, I’m not so sure! That said, this is a matter of personal taste.
The cosytoes on the Baby Weavers You & Me Twin Pushchair are small. Freya only turned 2 a few weeks ago but her legs are way too long to be crammed inside the cosytoes. The raincover too is a bit tight over her legs, so those with large toddlers may want to try one out for size before they buy.
There are easier options to push than a twin umbrella-fold buggy. This style of buggy stops at kerbs and you have to lean it back to get it up, and it feels a bit like hard work on a long uphill walk. The You & Me Twin is no exception. I wouldn’t want to walk miles pushing this buggy but then that isn’t what it is designed for.
Who is the Baby Weavers You & Me Twin Pushchair best for?
Budget-watching parents and childminders after an easy-to-fold buggy for two.
The Baby Weavers You & Me Twin Pushchair is an amazing value for money double that has everything you need included in its fantastic sale price. If you can get beyond the looks, it is a truly great buy.
