Pros

  • Easy to set up, its compact size and short aerial make this incredibly portable, good value for a digital monitor

Cons

  • Lacks a night light, some of the features were a tad fiddly to operate

The BEABA Babycall HD provides great digital monitoring for a very competitive price.

BEABA is French company that was founded in 1989 and its mission is based on listening to what mums want, putting safety, functionality and ergonomics at the top of their priority list.

The BEABA Babycall HD is a digital baby monitor, and it automatically searches for one of its 96 channels.

The temperature is displayed on both units and a temperature alarm and light feature warns you when the temperature falls below 18°C or rises above 28°C. An alarm also sounds on the parent unit if there’s a loss of reception and there’s a battery level indicator on both units. The parent and baby unit operate on both mains and battery power.

What we love

The BEABA Babycall HD has a simple set-up. The sound and light indicators are helpful features. The temperature display is also handy, and helps put your mind at ease without having to buy another piece of kit for the nursery just to do this job.

The compact size makes BEABA Babycall HD extremely portable, and the belt clip and aerial also add to this.

It’s a good price for a digital model with plenty of functions.

What to watch out for

Reception wasn’t as clear as other digital monitors, and a little unreliable – but the alarm in the parent unit will let you know when this happens. Also, it doesn’t have a night light.

Who is the BEABA Babycall HD best for?

Mums looking for digital quality and excellent portability without breaking the bank.

MadeForMums verdict

Some of the features were a little fiddly but this is an all round good monitor, even without a night light.
