Bebecar Easy Maxi car seat is a Group 0+, so it’s suitable from birth to 13kg and is a rear-facing option. It weighs 4kg and boasts added side impact protection, removable cover, one-pull 3-point safety harness, removable hood, and a 5-position carry handle. It has a removable cushion to make the seat cosier when your baby’s little. It can be installed in your car without the need for a separate in-car base.
The Grand Style Plus chassis weighs 10.5kg, so with the car seat attached, you'll be pushing 14.5kg.
What we love
Living within walking distance of a market town that has all the shops and facilities my family could ever need means the car is often left in the garage in favour of a daily stroll to pick up the essentials. This has become part of my son Kasper’s routine and the sturdy and secure Bebecar Grand Style Plus Combination Pram, which is capable of carrying several bags of shopping, is ideal for our needs.
Firstly, the large basket at the bottom is wide and easy to reach. Secondly, whether in use with the carrycot, pushchair or car seat, Kasper is always at a nice height, as the Grand Style Plus is much more elevated than many others on the market, allowing me to talk to him and him to see the world.
Kasper was a winter baby but he was always warm and cosy in the carrycot with its windproof hood, thick mattress and substantial apron. Now he’s older, he’s equally happy in the well-padded seat, which can be fitted to face both directions.
We also love the adjustable handle, which can be quickly changed to suit the person pushing Kasper along, however tall they are.
A changing bag was included with the set. This is roomy, attaches neatly to the handles and we use it every day.
What to watch out for
Although it’s very simple fit the carrycot, pushchair and car seat on to the frame and to fold it away, the Grand Style Plus is very bulky, heavy and not at all easy to transport. We’ve had to buy smaller, collapsible buggies to leave with the grandparents. Also, we’ve rarely used the car seat on the chassis as we have to take the wheels off fit the chassis in the car boot, which makes for an awkward job when we arrive at our destination.
While its large size and fixed wheels make it perfect for pavements, the Grand Style Plus would struggle on country lanes and might even prove difficult in the park, unless there was a path. I’ve found that its slightly weighty manoeuvrability rules out going in some shops that are tight on space or that have steep steps or small entrances.
A raincover isn’t included and must be bought separately, which is disappointing given the price. We also purchased the matching parasol but this seemed to offer little shade and went in the bin after it snapped on its second outing.
