A beautiful piece of furniture in its own right, this baby rocker is too attractive to hide away
The coco bloom baby lounger certainly sets the style standard for baby kit, and beneath that deceptively simple design lies a beautifully functional rocker.
This baby rocker from Bloom looks like no other with its curvy one-piece seat frame and sumptuous leatherette seat pad – you could say it’s the executive model in fact. Go for the Scandi-chic stylewood model, £130, or modern minimalist plexistyle, £195, and then choose a seat in a startling array of colours for a baby rocker you really won’t want to hide out of sight after your baby has gone to bed.
What we love
The coco bloom makes such a good first impression, it’s hard to see beyond its looks, but I have to say it stands up to closer inspection. The seat pad poppers into the frame in no time at all and it’s just as easy to remove for washing. The faux leather fabric is easy to wipe clean, but can also be washed by hand if you suffer a serious spillage. Extra seat pads are available separately so you can mix and match colours.
The seat pad is generously padded to give your baby a comfy cocoon from which to watch the world go by. The straps are also generously padded for extra comfort.
That curvy frame enables your baby to rock herself gently and naturally, a movement she is sure to find comforting. The underside of the coco bloom has non-slip strips so she will stay put – and your floor won’t suffer any damage either.
This has the look of a modern classic and is built to last, so you’ll definitely want to use it again for any subsequent children - though you may feel it’s too special to pass around your family and friends!
A great finishing touch is the carry bag, like a sleeping bag to slide the rocker into and with long handles to sling over your shoulder – and the fabric is better quality than the bags you find on most travel cots.
What to watch out for
The multifunctionality offered by some other baby rockers has definitely been sacrificed for the sake of simplicity and sheer gorgeousness. If you’re short of space you’ll be disappointed to hear that this doesn’t fold flat and there’s no height adjustment for the seat. This means that the coco bloom is only suitable for use until your baby can sit up unaided, roughly up to about 7 months, which may make the price tag look a little steep.
Who is the coco bloom baby lounger best for?
Style-savvy parents seeking chic minimalist baby kit
The coco bloom baby lounger is so good looking you’ll wish there was an adult version or at least that this could be used for longer. It’s a thing of great beauty but it also works well and is sturdy. It’s not cheap, especially if you go for the plexistyle frame, and won’t fold flat for storage.
