What we love
Initially I bought this little nest to help my daughter Tippi sit. We have wooden floors throughout and playmats just weren’t soft enough for her tumbles. She was also increasingly irritated with lying on her back, so I bought the Sit Me Up Cosy and I’m so pleased I did.
It took a couple of hours to encourage Tippi to play in there, but once she got the hang of it she loved it. With more freedom than a bouncy chair, it offers her independence to play with her toys alone and observe the world around her. And, within days of using it she was sitting up straight.
The accompanying soft felt toys have also been a hit – with the furry texture proving to be great chewing material. This is a unique product which can develop hand-to-eye co-ordination and general physical co-ordination. I just wish I’d bought it earlier!
What to watch out for
The inflatable cushions deflate, and a gap can open between the rings, so just make sure they’re regularly blown up. Also, as your little one gets more active, climbing headfirst over the top of the ring is great fun. It’s then time to adapt it to a supportive sofa, which should be rested against a wall.
