The Britax B-Mobile weighs 8kg and is a forward facing only buggy. However, it is travel system compatible, and becomes rear facing when a car seat is attached. You can find out more about this in our full Britax B-Mobile travel system (2011 model) review. There is also an optional carrycot you can purchase.
The changes to B-Mobile are that it now has longer harness straps, a longer brake pedal and wipe-clean calf support.
What we love
Hats off to Britax for paying special attention to the small details. The longer break pedal certainly means it’s more accessible, as it’s set further away from the rear wheel. The shorter brake pedal on the older model has, on more than one occasion, locked on by itself, making the buggy suddenly halt mid walk. Releasing that old brake pedal was awkward because of its position and length, and I even had to use my hand to do the job sometimes.
The longer harness straps are a real plus point. On the old model, there wasn’t enough length to quickly and simply fasten the harness once the cosytoes was in place. I’d struggle with the harness, the cosytoes, and my baby Louie to make sure he was securely fastened in. With the 2011 model this hasn’t been an issue.
The 2011 B-Mobile has the same terrific manoeuvrability. It takes corners with ease and has a good turning circle due to the front lockable swivel wheels. It features all-round suspension, and the ability to be easily pushed single-handed, leaving the other free for a second child/phone/coffee.
What to watch out for
Faults are hard to find on the new 2011 Britax B-Mobile. One small factor is the price – it’s risen from £179.99 to £199.99. I really rated the B-Mobile’s affordability in my first review. I’m not sure whether the improvements warrant the £20 price rise. It’s not that much, and the 2011 B-Mobile is still great value, but it’s worth noting.
Also, the raincover still isn’t included. In my opinion, this is an essential.
Who is the Britax B-Mobile buggy (2011 model) best for?
Mums after a durable buggy with a dependable performance and easy steering.
The revamped Britax B-Mobile hasn’t lost the good features of the original, and has improved the experience, as Britax had hoped. Ideal for everyday use, this is a reliable, well-price buy, once you get the optional raincover.
