Unlike most other mattress protectors, the unique thing about a Brolly Sheet is that it is placed on top of your child’s bottom sheet. The sheet has flaps that you tuck under the mattress to keep it in place, so if your child does have an accident, all you need to do is whip it off, without having the hassle of having to change all the bedding. The waterproof panel is big enough to cover the majority of your child’s bed.
The cotton top is really nice and soft, with an absorbent middle layer and the backing is soft and noiseless backing. Result! I hate scrunchy-sounding mattress protectors!
The Brolly Sheets Waterproof Sheet Protector performed well in the ‘wee test’ - i.e. me pouring water over it. And after an initial puddle, the water did soak through and the back stayed dry, so you can feel confident that if your child wets the bed, or is ill during the night, the Brolly Sheet will protect the bed. The sheet can be washed and tumble dried and you’re advised to wash it before use to aid its absorbency.
What to watch out for
My son is quite a wriggly sleeper, so the Brolly Sheets Waterproof Sheet Protector did bunch up a bit. He also found it a little hot to sleep on in humid summer weather, but I’m sure it will be nice and cosy on cooler, winter nights.
At £24.95, it’s an expensive bed protector and you’ll need to buy two, so you’ve got a spare if the bed needs to be changed. However, it is a high-quality product, so I think it will last well.
