As larger cups can be heavy for little ones, the 4-in-1 cup is deliberately on the smaller side to help your baby easily move from bottle to cup.
In terms of practicality, the cup can be taken apart easily and washed in the dishwasher or steriliser.
What we love
This cup looks very design-led and is a bit of a breath of fresh air from the usual run-of-the-mill sipper cup in terms of looks. The forward-angled handles made the cup really easy for Isla, 17 months, to hold and she went for the teat with gusto!
I really like that the same product could be suitable for both a 3 month old and a 2 year old. Although you’d probably need more than one (to save washing-up pressure each night!), it does cut down on the need for buying lots of different cups.
We’re still trying out ‘open top drinking’ with Isla and the chunky sipper ring makes the process much less messy and easier for Isla to get the hang of.
What to watch out for
Isla’s 17 months old now so with the soft teat on, she got frustrated with not being able to get enough liquid out, quickly enough. She’s used to having a fast-flow teat on her bottles, and free-flow sipper cups, but I do think that for a younger baby, this teat would be the perfect transition from bottle to cup.
My main bugbear is that in sipper ring mode, you can’t take the cup out and about with you, as there’s no lid or closing component for it in this mode. So actually, you would need to purchase another sipper cup with a flip-top spout or a cup with a screw-on lid.
Who is the Brother Max 4-in-1 cup best for?
Mums moving their baby from bottle to cup at a relatively early age – or who want 4-in-1 flexibility for a stay-at-home cup.
A funky looking multi-stage cup that would be great for easing the transition from bottle to cup. However, the lack of lid for the sipper cup mode could make things very messy if you’re keen to take your Brother Max 4-in-1 cup out and about!
