A funky looking, practical booster seat, the Chicco MoDe offers an attractive solution to portable dining. Fitting most standard chairs the MoDe is easy to use and its numerous adjustments mean it can be tailored to you and your child’s needs.
The Chicco MoDe booster seat is designed to be used from 18 months to roughly 36 months. It is very simple to fit using two lockable straps - one for the back of the chair and one for underneath. These straps come complete with smaller Velcro straps, which tidy them away when transporting the seat. The whole seat folds in two, to make it easy to transport.
It has a removable adjustable tray, which has three locking positions to suit your child’s needs. The seat itself has three different height positions, enabling you to use it at different tables.
The hand-washable covers are very quick to remove and reattach. They were also very easy to wipe down whilst still attached to the chair. The PVC coated fabric means any spills are quickly recovered.
What we love
The Chicco MoDe is a great looking booster seat. It is very simple to use and adjust.
Minnie, 2, loved using it and even took to sitting in it on the lounge floor for snack time! The fact that you can remove the tray completely means your child can sit right up to the table. Minnie loved this as she felt just like her big sister Biba.
The Chicco MoDe is so easy to clean, which I would say is one of the major plus points for a highchair booster seat. The plastic moulded seat has been designed in such a way that there are no joins. This is a great feature, as no crumbs or squashed banana can get pushed into holes.
What to watch for
The tray sits very low in comparison to my child. At 18 months many children are beginning to feed themselves and I think the large distance between the tray and the child’s mouth could lead to some spillages. It was fine when Minnie was eating sandwiches but anything wetter was messy for us. I ended up taking the tray off and just pushing her up to the table. This meant she was at a much more practical height for eating.
Although the Chicco MoDe does fit most standard chairs, if your chairs are curved you may not be able to get a very secure fit.

Busy families on the go, who need a practical, compact booster seat.
The Chicco MoDe is a comfortable booster seat, and its functional design and practicality mean it is suitable for older babies and toddlers. It folds to a compact size, which is great for travelling. The tray may be a little low for some children, but being able to remove this for up-to-the-table dining is a real plus. While it is at the higher end of the booster seat market in terms of price, it certainly isn't the most expensive and it is great quality.
