The Pip also boasts a seven-position backrest, which is lowered and raised by squeezing two buttons together at the back. It’s very easy to operate, even with a child in the seat. And if your baby gets bored of moving, the rocker can be secured into a fixed position by lowering the retractable stand hidden under the base.
The Pip is suitable from birth to 9kg/20lb, roughly 6 months.
What we love
My daughter, Gracy, is almost 5 months old and loves to be held – constantly. She’s inherited a comfy rocker from her two older brothers, but always yells within minutes of being placed in it. Purely on this basis, I didn’t have high hopes for the Pip. I was amazed and delighted, therefore, when Gracy sat in it for a whole 20 minutes! I put this down to the novelty factor of a new bouncer. But, on the second test run, she happily lay there for 10 minutes before nodding off.
The Pip has a smooth, gentle rocking action and I found it easy to jiggle by foot.
At just over 3kg, the Cosatto Pip is light enough to manoeuvre even with a baby on board.
The seat liner is well padded for comfort and reversible, so you can choose the pattern you prefer. There’s an additional removable seat pad for newborns, too.
The Pip Rocker also comes with a four-year guarantee.
What to watch out for
When I first saw the Pip, I thought that the seat back looked rather too flat to offer support. On a couple of occasions Gracy lolled to one side and I had to straighten her up. She also looked quite upright, rather than relaxed, but she seemed happy.
As the rocker is lightweight it’s easy to carry, but it doesn’t have carrying handles.
Although a toy bar may have detracted from the chic look, I was disappointed that it doesn’t have one – and there’s nowhere to attach one.
While the Pip does have a 3-point safety harness, the clip is covered by the ‘crotch pad’, and was tricky to fasten if Gracy was wriggling.
Another colourway option would be preferable too. The fabric patterns (colourful geometric trees on one side and apples on the other) are sweet, but brown and orange wouldn’t be my first choice of colours.
Who is the Cosatto Pip Rocker best for?
Style-conscious parents looking for something a little different from the run-of-the-mill bouncer.
A colourful, funky bouncer, the Cosatto Pip Rocker offers a comfy seat that can be lowered if your little one rocks herself to sleep. Lightweight, yet on a sturdy oval base, it does lack a toy bar to keep your baby amused.
