A gorgeous design that is as convenient to use as it is cool.
Uber cool and quietly intelligent, the Cosatto Trof already has an award under its belt. Just be prepared for the big price tag.
I can safely say I have never seen a highchair more achingly cool than the Cosatto Trof. New to the market in summer 2012, it has already won an award from Junior magazine. With its looks and cools specs, if it were a car, it would perhaps be a Maserati.
So what are the specs exactly? There’s that wood finish, total 360-degree swivel, easy-release two-part tray with washable insert, sturdy crossbar base and the gas-lift height adjuster. Height wise, the tallest seat position is 61cm and the lowest is 39cm. For the tray, the highest position is 82cm and the lowest is 63cm
What we love
My 12-month-old Gabriel actually appears quite blissed out when he sits in this highchair. The apple-print, cosy padded liner adds to the comfort factor. With the snug-fitting tray he can grab, bash and mush to his heart’s content. At times in the past, I’ve fed Gabriel from my lap because he rejects his chair in the heat of a grump. But the Cosatto Trof? He’s happily sat in it every time thus far.
The Trof’s 5-point safety harness also has chest pads for comfort. The tray can be removed too, for up-to-the-table dining.
Being able to adjust the height means it should suit a number of table/feeding scenarios.
What to watch out for
Because the depth of the chair is rather shallow, unless all the straps are completely taut, Gabriel’s bottom seems to travel towards the edge of the gently sloping seat. However, having a shallower seat does mean the transition to dining table could be easier as he’ll be that bit closer to the action.
This highchair doesn't fold - however, at £300 and with these looks, you'd probably like to enjoy it rather than stash it away.
Who is Cosatto Trof best for?
Style-savvy parents after a new design classic, complete with clever functions.
The Cosatto Trof looks stylish, and offers adjustability and comfort. The price tag is steep, but then this is a statement piece to invest in.
