First impressions?

I loved the look of the car seat when I opened the box. The black-and-grey colour scheme is smart and the fabric felt luxurious. The car seat looks plush and padded, and seemed less bulky than our current 360 degree car seat.

How do you install the Cozy N Safe Morgan i-Size car seat?

The ISOFIX base is attached to the car seat and they are then attached to the car together. If it is being used for an older child, the Morgan can also be installed using the vehicle’s 3-point seat belt.

I found all the safety features impressive and loved the extra reassurance they gave me.

Can the Cozy N Safe Morgan i-Size car seat be used both forward- and rear-facing?

Yes, it’s rear-facing until your child is 87cm, or around 15 months old. After that, you pull a lever to spin the seat so that it faces forwards.

My son also liked sitting in the seat: he had plenty of leg room when facing forwards, and never seemed hot when we took him out, even after long journeys. He sometimes tries to escape from the straps of his car seat, but didn’t try once with this one, so that counts as high praise from my toddler!

How well did it work with differently aged children?

This car seat was ideal for my 2-year-old son, as it’s easy to use and not too bulky. For our baby, I’d use the Cozy N Safe Morgan for longer journeys, as she seems more comfortable in it. However, our other baby car seat can be clipped onto our pram with adapters, which is ideal for such a little baby, as you don’t have to wake them if they fall asleep in the car, and this is a feature the Morgan lacks.

Is the Cozy N Safe Morgan i-Size car seat big enough for the average 6-year-old?

I think so, yes; the car seat turns into a booster seat when your child is big enough, and you use the car’s 3-point seat belt once your child reaches 18kg or 105cm.

How do you adjust the Morgan i-Size car seat from a 5-point harness seat to a high-back booster?

We found it easy to switch the car seat between newborn and toddler, by removing the infant insert, bringing the headrest up and rotating from rear-facing to forward-facing. This takes just a minute or so. As your child grows, you can then use the vehicle’s 3-point seat belt, which is also easy to do, as the base stays on the car seat. It wouldn’t be difficult to keep switching if you have children of different ages.

How do you rate the straps on the Cozy N Safe Morgan i-Size car seat?

They were easy to clip in and felt secure. It was easy to adjust the strap length and to tighten the straps. They didn’t get in the way while I was putting in either the baby or the toddler, which was fantastic, as this has been an issue for me with other car seats.

How robust does it feel?

The Morgan i-Size car seat feels very high quality, and I love the material. I can see it lasting for many years. My only criticism would be that the one-handed rotation lever felt a little less sturdy, and a bit plasticky. Reviewers on Uberkids felt that the seat was very sturdy and of high quality.

The car seat reclines 50 degrees, which is ideal for my baby, and is also handy for my toddler if he falls asleep. The recline mechanism is a twist knob on the front of the seat, and I found it a bit fiddly. It took a good few twists to recline fully, and I think a lever would have been easier to use.

The covers are fully washable at 30 degrees, which is perfect, as my son likes to eat in the car and my baby was sick on the car seat! The covers are easy to remove and you can also spot-clean them easily.
