Good idea, poor design.
The Safety 1st Comfy Cushy 3-in-1 potty looks like a good idea but has one major flaw.
Described as “hassle-free” by the manufacturer, the Comfy Cushy 3-in-1 potty is a plastic potty, a trainer seat and a step stool. The removable potty and seat sit inside the main body and the lid closes to form the step stool. A soft potty cushion with a built-in reversible girl/boy deflector shield also fits inside.
What we love
The comfy cushion is a nice addition and made it easier for me to convince Harry to sit on the potty (and easier for him if he had to sit there for a while). Being able to use it as a step-stool is useful too, particularly if you've got a small bathroom.
What to watch out for
The hole in the cushion is just not big enough. If Harry is tucked under the deflector, then his bottom is too far back on the cushion. If he sits forward to poo, the likelihood is that he will wee on the floor. This renders the training seat useless too since the cushion is used with that also, but it didn't fit particularly well on to the loo seat anyway.
Finally, because the potty is tricky to use and there are so many separate parts, wee gets everywhere, which requires constant cleaning vigilance. The cushion also stains easily.
Who is the Safety 1st Comfy Cushy 3-in-1 best for?
Considering it fails at the most basic level it is not recommended for anyone.
While the idea behind the Comfy Cushy 3-in-1 potty is good, failings in the design make it a poor purchase.
