How to dress your child like Princess Charlotte
Steal Princess Charlotte's style for your own mini royal - a classic mix of Mary Jane shoes, pretty smock dresses, cool coats and knitted cardigans
Princess Charlotte may only be 3 years old, but she's already a fashion icon. Her outfits set trends, and tend to sell out in seconds.
So, how easy it to dress your little princess like Charlotte? Pretty easy, given that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have a clear-cut style for their daughter.
Princess Charlotte's only seen wearing smock-style dresses, Mary Jane shoes, cardigans and coats – teamed with key accessories like bows and headbands, ribbed tights, and detailed white socks.
The dresses usually have a subtle floral print, and as for colours, Kate picks burgundy/maroon red, blue or Charlotte's absolute fave: baby pink.
Here's your guide to dressing your baby, toddler or child like Princess Charlotte...
F&F Navy Velvet Trim Coat, £16
It's unlikely the Duke and Duchess bought Charlotte's coat from Tesco (wouldn't it be fab if they did? ?), but this navy number is a dead ringer for one she wore to a Christmas church service. Available in Tesco stores from 29 October 2018.
Pepa & Co Small Bow Headband – Light Blue, £7
Princess Charlotte's rarely seen at an official engagement without a darling bow. This headband's not too pricey, and it's an exact match, from one of Duchess Kate's fave brands. Available from Pepa & Co.
Dona Carmen Mary Jane Leather Shoes, approx. £27
Princess C's regular spotted wearing these shoes in both blue and maroon red (pictured top). Available from Dona Carmen in a variety of colours.
The White Company Esther Floral Pinafore, £13
Charlotte recently wore the Amelia dress and, as a result, the entire Amelia print range sold out! We like this Esther one from the same company as an alternative. Available from The White Company.
John Lewis Children’s Pretty Floral Sunglasses, £3.50
Charlotte's exact shades from a family visit to the Country Club are summery, floral and a total bargain. Available from John Lewis.
Condor Purl Cuff Anklet Socks – White, approx £5.50
When Charlotte's spotted wearing socks, they're pretty much always from Condor. These ones are pretty close, or exact. It's hard to tell with socks. Available from Born Boutique in limited sizes.
Margarita And Co Cardigan, approx £44
Princess Charlotte and Prince George have worn this lovely cardie in official photographs. Charlotte in official photos of Prince Louis, and George posing alongside the Queen and her great-grandkids. Available from Margarita And Co.
Little Alice London Allegra Smock Dress, £40
Every dress Charlotte wears seems to sell out instantly. She wore a blue smock dress from the same brand not so long ago, so we like this version as a substitute. Available from Little Alice London, in sizes 3 months - 6 years.
Amaia Large Hair Bow, £6
Princess Charlotte's bow is in in 'bluebird' (pictured), but there's a rainbow of options available to match your child's wardrobe. Available from Amaia Kids.
Razorbill Burgundy Coat, £120
The exact coat the Princess wore to her first day of nursery is still available online. It's super pricey, but surely is gorgeous! Available from Amaia Kids
Cath Kidston Pony Kids Padded Rucksack, £30
On the same day, Charlotte's first school bag was revealed to be a pony-print pink number from Cath Kidston. This one's not exact - but it's an almost identical print. Available from Cath Kidston
Papouelli Angelica Grosgrain, £72 - £79
Looking for toddler/kid-friendly bridesmaid shoes? Princess Charlotte's previously worn these exact shoes (in blush pink) for auntie Pippa Middleton's wedding. Available from Papouelli, in sizes 23 - 34.
Pepa & Co Flower Girl White Dress with Pink Silk Sash, £280
The bridesmaid dress Charlotte wore to auntie Pippa's wedding is also still available to purchase. Here's the exact, from one of Kate's fave brands - but it won't come cheap! Available from Pepa & Co.
Baby Boden Chambray Collared Smock Dress, £30
This is such a Charlotte dress! Like we said, Princess C's actual dresses sell out instantly, but this chambray smock dress is very reminiscent of the pretty blue ones she wore on her first royal outings. Available from Baby Boden.
Early Days Pink Leather Emma Pre Walker Shoes, £29
Gorgeous pink baby shoes worn by the Princess when she was very little. Charlotte also has the navy pair. Available from Children's Salon, in a variety of colours.
