The Elle MacPherson Intimates La Mere Nursing Bra is a lovely-looking piece of lingerie that can help even the most exhausted new mum feel attractive again.
The plunging front and narrow straps mean it can be worn under more revealing clothes, impossible with traditional nursing bras that strap you up from chest to neck.
The plastic clips on the drop cups are easy to open discretely when feeding in public.
It is machine washable at 40 degrees, although ideally you should put it in a net lingerie bag before washing.
What to watch out for
Opinion online is radically divided between the mums who rave about how comfortable this bra is, and those of us who found the material too stretchy to be supportive, and the lace rather itchy.
Personally, I had problems with my breasts falling out of the gap between the nursing cups and the body of the bra, which was particularly uncomfortable, and my breast pads often made a break for freedom. I therefore only tended to wear it under particular outfits rather than as an everyday bra, and suspect the style is more suited to smaller bust sizes.
Also, at £34, the Elle MacPherson Intimates La Mere Nursing Bra is a bit pricier than many other nursing bras, and it’s a shame such a glamorous range doesn’t include any matching briefs.

The Elle MacPherson Intimates La Mere Nursing Bra is a soft, sexy and feminine nursing bra to help you regain your inner super model. One the functional side of things, the drop cups are easy to use and it can be machine washed. Sadly, it’s not really supportive enough to suit larger sizes for anything more than occasional use.
