Cons

  • Bulky, expensive

Fisher-Price is renowned for its baby activity products, and the Jumperoo has become a firm favourite with babies and their parents since it launched in 2004.

Several updates on, and the Roarin’ Rainforest Jumperoo features a height-adjustable bouncy tiger seat, that swivels 360 degrees, as well as music, lights and loads of toys to keep little ones entertained.

Having been an avid Jumperoo fan for the past 6 years, since my first son adored his jumping days, I was desperate to get my hands on the new Roarin' Rainforest Jumperoo for my second son.

I was hoping it would be equally pleasurable for both parties to sit back and enjoy!

What age is the Fisher-Price Jumperoo suitable for?

The Jumperoo is suitable for babies aged 6-15 months, or a max weight of 11.3kg and height of 85cm.

What did your little one think of the Jumperoo?

Our first son, George, jumped excitedly as soon as he was placed in the Jumperoo seat - possibly a reflection of his energetic self!

However, our second child Henry (hopefully a more relaxed child!) showed a rather chilled and calm exterior when placed in the brightly coloured orange tiger seat and has not yet taken advantage of the fact he can turn a full 360 degrees!

Do you think the Jumperoo has enough features to keep your little one entertained?

Yes. He clearly enjoys exploring the different toys/activities on offer and the range of noises it creates.

He absolutely loves spinning the lion roller, and I have shown him how to use the alligator clicker, he loves grabbing and chomping down on the butterfly teether.

He is enjoying the elephant and hippo batting toys, lights, and he stares at the soft monkeys overhead.

9 fun outdoor games that babies can play

At the moment he is occupied for at least 10 minutes in it at a time (compared to the hours our eldest was happy to be it for!) this could well change as he gets older and more confident.

How easy/hard is it to set it up?

The instructions were clear and it is very straightforward to put together.

How easy is the Jumperoo to collapse and store?

The new and improved design base can collapse easily so that you can fold it almost in on itself. Once folded you can position the seat sideways and rest it up against a wall or behind a piece of furniture for easy storage when it isn't in use.

However, for the lazy parent, like myself this wasn't really an option as I wanted to be able to leave it out and therefore it does take up a substantial area of the living room! Some people would really need to consider if they have the space for this item and the logistics of packing it away.

Do you feel your child is safe and secure in the Jumperoo?

To know he is safe and secure in the seat, if I need to quickly dash upstairs or do something is one of the best things about this product.

I’m not suggesting you should leave baby unattended but, in reality, it makes doing things like popping to the loo, opening the front door and grabbing the washing a lot easier when you know baby is safe and entertained.

How comfy is the seat?

The seat is comfortable but I think it could be even more padded around the sides.

What do you think of the height adjustable seat?

The Jumperoo grows with your child as you can adjust the height easily, a good feature to gain the most use from the product.

This is done by changing the level (numbered clearly 1,2,3) of the three supporting bands to the height you require.

The Jumperoo can adjust to 3 different heights

Is it easy to clean?

The removable seat fabric is machine washable and safe to use in the dryer.

MadeForMums verdict:

Overall, we are very pleased with this product and despite the bulky frame we wouldn't want to be without it for the all-round entertainment and stimulation it provides while giving us the much-needed respite for a bedraggled mum of two!
