The Kelly’s mix of delicate pink embroidery and striking leopard platinum print is, like the many other Freya options, totally dedicated to following fashion.
The bra has no underwire and features drop cups for feeding.
What we love
I’m quite a good-sized boob at this point, and the Freya Kelly bra is so supportive, I’m impressed. I’m amazed that a non-underwired bra can be this effective. I certainly didn’t expect this level of support when first looking at it.
The Freya Kelly bra is comfortable too. This is also a surprise to me for the fabric isn’t that silky on the inside - you can feel it is polyester. I have found it washes up well though and is actually very soft to wear.
It’s gorgeous too. I adore the colour and design of this bra. It is so feminine and sexy at the same time. As a breastfeeding mum who is only now returning to my normal size and shape, four months on from the birth of my second child, the Kelly brought me closer to my pre-pregnancy underwear choices.
If you like matching bras and undies, you’re in luck. The sassy hipster pants, £12.50, are equally as comfy as the bra. I’ve dropped from a large to a medium over my hips since having baby Sofia and because of this, I actually tried to shrink the pants. The good news is that even on a hot wash in the machine followed by a tumble dry, they didn’t change size at all. Even the colour didn’t fade.
Never under-estimate the confidence that comes with wearing such pretty underwear, which sits well under other fabrics by the way! I may be wearing tops with baby sick on the outside, but at least I have the most gorgeous undergarment underneath!
When it comes to feeding, I’m more than happy to get this bra out in public. The clips work well and are quick to fasten and release.
Lastly, it is good to know that Freya bras are available at the more than fair retail price of £28.
What to watch out for
The handwash only label is annoying as you want to wear the bra a lot. That said, if you go by my earlier comments, you’ll know that I’ve machine washed it and had no problems at all.
It’s not the most discrete of all nursing bras to use in that having a larger boob, there is a lot exposed when you drop the cup down to feed.
The fabric doesn’t stretch and therefore can’t fit your ever-changing boob size as it fluctuates through the initial feeding weeks.
Who is the Freya Kelly Nursing Bra best for?
Breastfeeding mums who wish to retain an element of sexiness!
What a pity this is to be worn under clothes! The Freya Kelly Nursing Bra functions well, is comfortable to wear and offers great support. Design-wise, it brings a welcome change to the stereotypical underwear drawer of a breastfeeding mum, without breaking the bank.
