The seat consists of a ‘booster’ base and detachable back/head rest with triple side protection. The two parts of the seat are fairly easy to click together once you’ve done it a couple of times. They feel securely locked together when done so – unlike some models which easily come apart (and fall on your toes!) when you move the seat between cars. For your older child, the base of the seat can be used without the backrest and with the special seat belt attachment as a Group 3 car seat. The seat also offers a 2-position recline, which is unusual for car seats in this group. The Graco Logico L seat cover is removable and washable.
What we love
There is extensive foam padding on the armrests, head support, sides and the seat of the Logico L, which makes it a very comfortable seat for your little one - Lucy easily falls asleep in it.
The height of the head support is easily adjustable using the ergonomic squeezy handle on the top of the seat. The height of the armrests are also adjustable - quite innovative as this helps to give your child better back support.
The seat is high enough to enable your child to see outside, which Lucy loves.
The seat is easy to transport and store in your boot as two separate pieces, so it can also be kept as a useful spare.
It’s useful that it can recline (though it doesn’t recline very far).
There are two cup holders that pull out of the base of the seat - a nice feature for the older kids. I also like the seat belt attachment when using the seat base as just a booster – it ensures that your car seat belt is still correctly positioned across your little one’s chest.
As an additional point of interest, the Graco website has a useful car seat selector that lets you check in advance if the Logico L will fit your car and specifically which seats within the car it can be used in.
What to watch out for
Because the seat is held solely in place by the weight of your child who is then strapped in place with your car seat belt, it does feel a little bit wobbly – especially when I have Lucy in it who weighs only 16kg. However, this is the same way that the majority of Group 2/3 car seats are held in place. So you need to ensure that you pull the seat belt as tight as possible to keep it and your little one rigid.
Who is the Graco Logico L best for?
Parents looking to spend a reasonable amount of money for decent side protection and comfort on a long journey.
The Graco Logico L car seat offers flexibility for different ages at an affordable price. It’s comfortable and offers good side protection, but it can wobble around if you don’t pull the seat belt tight enough. It’s pretty easy to fit the back to the booster seat part and the seat belt guides provide reassurance that you’ve fitted your precious toddler correctly.
