Pros

  • Non-spill, fun, appealing design, sticks to any smooth surface, BPA-free, no valve so doesn't damage infant teeth

Cons

  • Only available in one size, not microwave safe, spare cups not available to buy

The Happy HollyDaisy My All Grow’d Up Cup is a brilliant solution to the problem of the lost cup. It’s a plastic beaker that comes with a holder that suckers onto any smooth surface. It’s a novel way to encourage toddlers to manage their own drinking habits. It’s just a shame it only comes in one size.

Toddlers have no regard for beakers - they shove them down the back of the sofa, leave them on the kitchen floor, or, at worst, chuck them out of the car window. And then they scream blue murder when they want a drink!

Mum-of-two Linzi Cracknell, keen to find a solution to this problem, set about designing a cup that allowed toddlers to help themselves to a drink whenever they fancied. Particularly worried about the danger of handing out cups when she was driving, she wanted to encourage greater independence in her children.

The My All Grow’d Up Cup is a hard plastic, non-spill, BPA-free sippy cup. With two handles, it’s easy to hold and is available in blue, lime green, orange or pink. The cup is decorated with two eyes and forms the face of an elephant.

The holder (the trunk and feet of the elephant) is attached to an arm that suckers onto smooth surfaces around the house (think patio doors, the fridge door, kitchen tiles), or a car window. By placing the cup in the holder, your toddler is rewarded with an elephant roar, a great incentive, which can also be switched off!

What we love

My daughter Minnie, 16 months, absolutely loved this cup. She has casually disregarded many cups already, so it was a relief to see her attached to one beaker and so keen to keep it in one place.

This is a durable cup that will last, unlike some of the flimsy versions on the market.

I was also pleased to see that the Happy HollyDaisy My All Grow’d Up Cup is BPA-free.

What to watch out for

This is a great product but there are a few minor niggles. The beaker must sit squarely in the holder for it to fit. At just under the recommended age for use (18 months) Minnie didn’t always manage to get the cup in the holder and as a consequence, the cup sometimes fell on the floor (a problem in the car).

The Happy HollyDaisy My All Grow’d Up Cup is only available in one size (200ml), and older children might need a larger cup for long car journeys.

Whilst the cup is dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended. Cups can’t be bought separately from the holder, so if you lose it you have to buy the set (£8.99).

Who is the Happy HollyDaisy My All Grow’d Up Cup best for?

Parents who want to encourage toddlers to become more independent with their drinks.
