Comfy but not practical, frilly but not sexy - you'll either love them or hate them!
She Craved a Little Decadence is aptly named for a bra that’s a little different, with plenty of flounces and frills.
Manufacturer HOTMilk has caused a stir in the world of maternity and nursing bras with its saucy advertising campaign, but despite its sexy reputation, this isn’t a raunchy bra in the slightest. For one thing, it’s enormous! The cups looked far bigger than the size advertised, although once on it fitted reasonably snugly. The cups, however, nearly reach the clavicle – so even moderately scooped-neck tops aren’t an option.
The colourway is very unusual – navy blue with bright turquoise trim. It’s this that makes the bra really stand out from the crowd, but other colour options would make it a much more popular choice.
What we love
For such a glammed-up set of undies, these are surprisingly comfy. They’re fun to wear, bright and cheerful number and so perfect for those who care about their undies, or who are frustrated by the lack of variety in maternity bras. They certainly provide a different option to the more traditional maternity sets out there.
What to watch out for
The downside of the glamour means that it’s a very fussy bra – there’s ruching, contrast-stitch edging, frills and bows on the cups; and ruching, frills, bows and a loop design on the straps. This means that, unlike most maternity bras, it has straps that you wouldn’t mind showing, but it’s a bulky garment that will show under tight tops. There’s also a choice of flirty knickers – bikini brief or French knicker - which are cute and well designed, but similarly frilly.
All the ruffles and frills, as well as the dark colourway, mean these may well show through tight, sheer or light-coloured clothes. They won’t be to everyone’s taste, and different colour options would have increased their appeal.
Who is HOTMilk’s She Craved A Little Decadence best for?
Mums-to-be who are feeling frumpy and in need of cheering up!
All the frills mean these aren’t practical undies, but they’re not likely to be a turn-on for your man either as they’re a bright and bold set with probably too much coverage! They are comfy though, so might be a good choice if you’re looking to treat yourself to some new lingerie that makes you feel good and isn’t purely functional during your pregnancy. You’ll either love them or hate them!
