While our tester Jenny and her now 8-month-old baby tried the 2.5tog in the bold blue stripes, it is also available as a 1 tog and in other colourways. It comes in three sizes - 0-6 months (£20), 6-18 months (£22), and 18-36 months (£24).
The bag is machine washable at 40 degrees and John Lewis suggests it can help prevent your little one scratching their eczema or ease the transition from Moses basket to cot.
What we love
The John Lewis Baby Stripe Sleeping Bag is a stylish, eye-catching sleeping bag.
The poppers at the shoulders mean it’s really easy to get your baby into it when he’s tired at night, though you’ll probably find you do need to put your baby in before he falls alseep. Mum Jenny found the sleeping bag a good fit, and with the 0-6 month size, because it zips under the arm and has a little flaps that go across the top, her son couldn’t figure out how to escape!
The 2.5 tog weight was absolutely fine for Jenny. It’s really thick so her baby wore just a long-sleeved vest.
The sleeping bag is a lovely soft cotton material so it feels lovely and doesn’t irritate skin at all. Jenny’s baby has eczema and it doesn’t bother him at all.
The John Lewis Baby Stripe Sleeping Bag washes really well, and can be tumbled dried, which is very practical. While it does bobble a bit, Jenny’s washed it lots and uses it almost every day.
What to watch out for
The John Lewis Baby Stripe Sleeping Bag is quite low on the front, so Jenny’s baby could reach down and suck on the front bit, though this doesn’t happen often and usually only when he’s restless. As he suffers from eczema, that can scratch the top of his chest.
Who is the John Lewis Baby Stripe Sleeping Bag best for?
Mums after a durable option that’s kind to even the most delicate skin
The John Lewis Baby Stripe Sleeping Bag is a comfy option that won’t irritate skin. It washes well and is competitively priced, so offers good value for money.
