A very useful addition to your handbag, this is small and quick to set up.
The Kiddicare Inflatable Booster Cushion is a remarkably simple piece of kit. The seat is an inflatable booster to raise your child to the right height and is invaluable in a number of situations.
The Kiddicare Inflatable Booster Cushion is just what it says it is - a small square black blow-up cushion that folds away to almost nothing. The fabric of the booster is the slightly velvety kind that you get on many inflatable beds. In fact, in construction this is similar to an inflatable bed only much, much smaller.
What we love
In the interests of testing (nothing to do with hiding from the wet weather), my little tester and I went to the cinema where he normally ends up on my lap in order to see over the invariably large grown-up sat in front. With the Kiddicare Inflatable Booster Cushion though, Bertie (my small 6 year old) could sit on his own. This makes the cinema trip much easier as you can’t hold a child and a king-size box of popcorn on your knee at the same time.
The Kiddicare Inflatable Booster Cushion is just like an incredibly small lilo. Black (so it’s gender neutral), it looks utilitarian and not like it’s just for tiny ones. Bertie at no point complained about using the booster. The product information does mention that this seat will easily take the weight of an adult (up to 14 stone) and I did find one online review by an adult who used this seat to help her reach an overly high office desk.
The Kiddicare Inflatable Booster Cushion is very robust - it was bounced on by Charlie, 10, to see if he could burst it! And whilst I don’t recommend this as a use for the booster cushion I do appreciate its value in demonstrating is robust nature, in a totally unscientific way!
Blowing this small seat up is easy and only took a few seconds. The valve has a sealed bit inside so that the air doesn’t rush out the moment you stop.
This seat is very portable - when deflated it fit in my handbag easily and there’s a lot in there to start with.
Lots of reviews have mentioned little children using this at their home dinner table as the children prefer the booster to a permanent highchair.
What to watch out for
The booster does move around. When we used this blow-up booster on the banquet seating in the restaurant, the seat didn’t stay put (but then neither does my daughter in that situation). With this in mind, I’d say it’s not great as an alternative to a highchair unless you have a chair with arms to place it on.
Who is the Kiddicare Inflatable Booster Cushion best for?
Parents after a nifty portable solution, especially if they like heading to the cinema.
This is a handy addition to your bag for very little cost. It’s robust, easy to blow up and unisex in styling. It could move around on the seat though, so may not work in every single situation.
