Pros

  • lightweight, compact, easy-to-use portable highchair

Cons

  • Not adaptable to all chairs so doesn't always function

The Koo-di Pack-It Seat Harness is a genius invention that means you can feed your little one on the run. It’s easy to use and effective, up to a point.

Obviously designed for mums and dads on the go, the Koo-di Pack-It Seat Harness is a compact product that offers an instant highchair solution, suitable for your baby to use from approximately 6 to 30 months old (or when sitting unsupported).

We all recognise that initially, feeding a baby on your lap is relatively easy. Your little bundle snuggles neatly within one arm, allowing you to enjoy your own lunch. In time though, you welcome in weaning, and suddenly feeding that bigger bundle becomes a lot more difficult – let alone feeding yourself at the same time. When you’re at home, no worries, you simply feed your little one face-to-face in the bouncing chair, or if they sit up, then in the highchair. But what about when you are out? And what if you’re out in a place that is baby-friendly but not baby-equipped?

That is when the Koo-di Pack-It Seat Harness comes into its own, working simply as a piece of fabric that ties on to the back of a sturdy chair. You sit your little one on top of the material before pulling it over your baby’s legs, around the tummy and securing it at the back with an easy fastening clip. There’s an adjustable strap enabling it to fit different widths of chair.

Unfortunately, although it adjusts to fit different widths of chair, it does not adjust to fit different heights of chair. On a high backed chair the material is just not long enough for the product to function.

What we love

I love that this highchair alternative is so simple, yet such a cool bit of kit. It’s good-looking in its flash red or designer black, and is easy to wash and comfortable around baby.

It’s brilliant that it conveniently tucks away in its own carry pouch, being small enough to squeeze in to any bag, or hang on a pram frame by its little popper fastening.

From a hygiene point of view, a public highchair may not always be as clean as you would like, but this is yours and therefore as clean as you choose to keep it.

A real bonus is the fact that baby can sit right up to the table with all the family. Not only does this help babe to learn all manner of social skills, it also allows him or her more obvious independence while being totally included.

Lastly, retailing at £10.99, it is affordable.

What to watch out for

My 11-month-old daughter Esme and I went to several places where we found it impossible to use the product because it would not fit the chairs provided. So disappointingly, you ought to be aware that this seat harness will not always work.

Who is Koo-di Pack-it Seat Harness best for?

Mums who eat out and want to be self-sufficient and travel light.

MadeForMums verdict

The Koo-di Pack-It Seat Harness is a great product – it’s light, compact, affordable, and really helps the whole eating when out process. However, it could be greater if it worked on all types of chair.
