Pros

Cons

  • Parent unit only works on fully charged batteries

The very funky LeapFrog Advanced Digital Baby Monitor combines good looks with an excellent host of easy to use features.

LeapFrog is a leading designer and developer of innovative, technology-based educational products, and the LeapFrog Advanced Digital Baby Monitor won’t let you down.

This monitor is packed with features. The parent unit has a digital clock display, talkback, pager, torch and sound-sensitive lights, while the baby unit offers a choice of five lullabies, and a remote control night light. Both have a temperature display and operate on mains and battery power. There’s also a light indicator for battery levels, an alarm for reception loss and a temperature alarm.

What we love

Once the parent unit has been charged, this is a very easy monitor to set up and the parent and baby units quickly communicate with each other. It provides good sound quality and a warning beep can be set if sound levels in the nursery reach a certain volume.

The LeapFrog Advanced Digital Baby Monitor offers a great number of features that all work very well. The sound sensitive setting means the parent unit remains in sleep mode until your baby makes a noise to save power. There’s also a baby feed timer to alert you when your baby’s next feed is due. A temperature alarm and light warns you when the temperature falls below 18°C or rises above 28°C. An alarm sounds on the parent unit to signal loss of reception and there’s a battery level indicator on both units.

The belt clip is a useful feature and the compact size and aerial make it extremely portable.

It comes highly recommended by mums online who say it’s easy to set up, has great functions and clear sound.

What to watch out for

The parent unit only works on batteries that are fully charged.
