The small chair can be lifted out, giving a child-sized seat for use at a small table, and leaving the FunPod for use when your baby is old enough to stand in it and reach the worktop or table to interact and even help you in the kitchen.

Removing the chair from the FunPod is simple – it just lifts out. The fact that it can be used as a low chair is useful, and if you want to keep your child safe in the kitchen, the FunPod is ideal.
The reversible cushion is machine washable, essential on a highchair, and the wooden seat wipes clean easily. The three-point harness ensures your little one won’t escape, while the scalloped feet mean it won’t tip over (they have a polyethylene base to prevent floors from scratching – sadly the chair doesn’t).
Without the tray you can bring it to the table so your baby interacts with you at mealtimes. To convert to a FunPod, you need to fix a panel on the front, which is simple enough, though requires a screwdriver – the best bit about this is the quick-release screws, which are on springs and fasten and unfasten in a flash, and aren’t removed so you won’t lose them.
The footrest/FunPod base has five height positions, offering great adaptability as your child grows, and adjusting is easy, just push into the slots. The natural wood finish is smart and will fit with most decors.
What to watch out for
The highchair tray requires an allen key to remove it, which effectively means you’ll only wipe it clean rather than immersing it in water. The tray also seems too far forward for a child, so spillages are pretty much inevitable.
The seat back is straight up so your child really will need to be able to sit up independently before using this as a high chair.
At 19.5kg, it’s a hefty beast and even with the handles isn’t easy to carry around. It also takes up quite a bit of space. The highchair addition gives this product longer life, but seems to be more of an afterthought rather than an integral part of the design – you would only choose this if you were convinced that you wanted a FunPod later on. It’s quite expensive for a not brilliant highchair.
