What we love
The Mamas & Papas Trip lightweight buggy is a stylish and sturdy buggy. I was surprised that the ride was as smooth as it was. The Mamas & Papas Trip was easy to push (even one-handed) and looks great with a variety of colourways (Blueberry, Apple, Cherry). The handles are well padded and easy on your hands.
The seat has breathable mesh panels in the sides, which means the Mamas & Papas Trip lightweight buggy is an ideal choice for a warm-weather holiday destinations. Your child will remain cool while looking cool!
The Mamas & Papas Trip folds up in a flash and is extremely compact when folded. It will easily fit in most car boots without a great deal of struggle. There’s a lock feature, too, so the Trip will stay securely closed when transporting it. The Mamas & Papas Trip has a handy carry strap on the side of the chassis, which make carrying it much simpler.
What to watch out for
The Mamas & Papas Trip doesn’t recline, which is the most disappointing factor about this lightweight buggy. If you’re going on holiday and touring about, your child is bound to fall asleep and they will not be in the ideal sleeping position.
The breathable mesh sides are handy for warm-weather climates but if you’re in cold-weather climates you’ll want to have a footmuff or buggy liner to keep your child from getting too cold. The seat of the Trip is not overly supportive. I found my daughter to be a bit compressed while riding in the buggy. The seat seems a bit “sling-like” and could do with a bit more support for additional comfort.
If you have a footmuff or buggy liner installed in the Mamas & Papas Trip, it won’t fold completely flat, which can affect how well the lock catch holds the buggy shut.
There’s no viewing window in the canopy and it is very stiff to secure and release. I was concerned that I might pinch my fingers in the catch.
Who is the Mamas & Papas Trip lightweight buggy best for?
Budget-conscious families after a compact, durable summer holiday buggy.
The Mamas & Papas Trip lightweight buggy is a worthy choice for holidaying families looking to purchase an affordable and easy-to-transport buggy. Although it doesn’t recline and the seat could be slightly sturdier, the breathable mesh sides, style and functionality of the buggy make it worth your money.
