Pros

  • Lightweight, simple to fold up and down, comfortable seat, generous recline, so easy to push

Cons

  • Velcro flap on canopy viewing window can't be use when the raincover is on

When looking for a lightweight buggy, there's a few boxes to tick – is it light, easy to push, simple to fold and does it have general good looks? I’m happy to say the Mutsy Easyrider has all of these in abundance - and it’s not called ‘Easyrider’ for nothing!

The Mutsy Easyrider has a smart aluminium frame supporting a very thick canvas seat that’ll make your baby comfortable. It has a 5-point harness and a full canopy that offers great coverage And the generous seat recline makes it an alluring place for a snooze. Yes, the Easyrider is a little gem.

The small swivel wheels at the front have a unique suspension system to tackle curbs and bumps, and the back wheels have suspension too. This is obvious as soon as you start pushing the Easyrider as it moves like a dream.

As if that wasn’t enough, the extendable leg rest, tall ergonomic handles and spacious basket are just a few more reasons to give this pushchair a try.

What we love

The first thing I noticed about the Mutsy Easyrider, apart from its stylish aluminium frame, was the thick canvas seat. At first glance I thought it looked rather uncomfortable and plastic, but after a closer look, feel, and an outing with my daughter Heidi (who slept for an hour and a half in it), I realised first impressions aren’t always right. The seat is extremely comfortable, and as there’s such a generous recline, children can enjoy a relaxing sleep without a lolling head.

The next feature I can’t praise highly enough is how easy it is to push. This pushchair lives up to the ‘Easyrider’ tag. As I pushed it through town, dodging the crowds on a busy market day, I had no problems at all. A slight push to the right and the Easyrider obliged willingly. It was a pleasure to use.

Rain is most definitely not an issue for any baby lucky enough to be under the Easyrider raincover. With my other stroller, Heidi’s feet peep out the end, but the bottom of this one is sealed with poppers and accommodates the seat even when in a fully reclined position.

While not a problem for me as someone who is short, for tall people like my husband the height of the handles is a real bonus. No hunching to be seen behind the wheels of the Easyrider.

What to watch out for

The canopy has a viewing window with Velcro attachments so you can check on your child. Only thing is, it can be disturbing if your little one’s a light sleeper, and when the raincover is on you can’t check your child as the canopy is underneath it.

I thought the strap covers weren’t in keeping with the rest of the buggy as they looked a little bulky.

Who is the Mutsy Easyrider buggy best for?

Parents of any height who like to whizz around, and children who crave comfort

MadeForMums verdict

A pushchair definitely worth considering, the Mutsy Easyrider is so easy to push, lightweight and simple to fold up and down. It offers a comfortable, sleep-inducing ride too. With a generous recline, raincover and extendable leg rest, it offers more than the average lightweight pushchair. The niggle is slight – just that you can’t use the Velcro flap on the viewing window when the raincover’s on.
